Animals I Would Be

If I were a tiny bear
Armed with a great big shotgun,
I would shoot all the tiny bears
Unlucky enough not to got one.

If I were an ugly owl
I'd wrap my head up in a towel
And train a bat to guide me about
With his shrill and seeing shout.

If I were a wise old hare
I'd go up to dumber bunnies
And using logic, math, and prose
Steal away all their monies.

But I'm just a hairless ape
In a world of hairless apes.
So I scrawl words in a little book
And coat canvasses with coloured shapes.
